There's a rumour that Pakistan might bring in an off spinner who's currently being tested for an illegal action, that would be rather a sad decision.

He would be available for selection until the results come through, a process that takes a further 14 days and means, in theory, he would at least be available for the Dubai Test starting on October 22. Posted that on the random cricket thread. Can't believe these people actually get paid to come up with these suggestions. Ridiculous idea even by ICC standards.

Would definitely be Shan Masood. Harsh on Masood but he's the weakest of their top 6.

Azhar's had no more success as an opener than Masood. Maybe Shehzad would get another go if they were going to replace the opener? Shoaib has made a difficult decision for them, and the only way past it is for Azhar to open, or remain unavailable.

So, Bilal Asif has been called up (what happened to Zafar Gohar?). Presumably, visa permitting.

Keep an eye on his bowling action.

It maybe with the rules that Bilal can play but certainly not within the spirit of the game. There would be hell on if England contemplated such a move.

Zafar Gohar can't get a visa now as he has just come back from UAE. He'll have to wait a while until he can get another one.
