England v Hong Kong & Pakistan v Nepal, Nov 8

Postby dan08 » Thu Nov 05, 2015 4:16 pm

To prepare for the ODI series, England play Hong Kong while Pakistan play Nepal on November 8th.

Eng/HK isn't an ODI as England say they can't afford to pay the $25,000 in match fees. https://twitter.com/timwig_cricket/stat ... 5081576448

Nevertheless, it will be interesting to see how these matches go.

Is the England game on tv? I guess if it was an ODI, Sky would have to show it.

Forgot about the ODIs.

England must be employing too many coaches if they can't stump up $25000.

Does this mean the players wont be playing as they wont be getting paid?

ECB seem to make a lot of money, would not think 25000 would be to much for them.

Can't find anything a credible source on why England v Hong Kong isn't an ODI. Makes no sense for the Hong Kong game to have official ODI status when the original fixture is billed as a practice match and one where England are likely to win comprehensively.

Bowlers bowl a maximum of 7 overs and batsmen retire on 50, just like a social friendly on a Sunday afternoon.

As i said it's because England don't want to pay their ODI match fees so it will just be a practice match instead.

England 342/8.
Pakistan 326/6.

Pakistan are playing their full strength team. Nepal will do well to reach 50 against Wahab and Yasir.

Loving this English journalist could never ever complain about touring teams using more than 11 players in warm up games.

the only way to find out is at the end of the day play and count how many players actually played.

Cricinfo isn't that reliable for this game.

They still have England 140/1.
