Dowrich looked quite good when he debuted this year. Much better prospect than Chandrika.

I actually thought it was a pretty good effort by the Windies to make it last 4 days, given the overwhelming position Australia were in after day 2. They could have just lost hope and folded, but showed some fighting spirit instead. A few players made a good contribution with the bat, but their bowling needs a lot of improvement, especially on flat pitches like this (another tediously flat MCG pitch by the way :angry ).

A spinning pitch in Sydney is as likely as a bouncy pitch at the WACA. We here about "two spinners" it every year, but I doubt it will happen unless the quicks are totally knackered. Hazelwood seems to struggle to last a full series.

Marsh seems good enough to be a genuine seamer, going on stats. So it's not much hardship to elect for another spinner. Not that likely though.

Think Marsh might be expected to bowl a few more overs at the SCG.

Siddle looked tired from the feed i was watching. Hazelwood as well. Si expect to see a few changes. May as well try a second spinner as well.

Using test matches against to windies as practice games for future series. Not good. Last time for a long time that the Windies will be playing at either the MCG or SCG

With Siddle being replaced by O'Keefe, there must be a chance a second spinner will play.

Everything is so hunky-dory with the West Indies team that there's no need to change anything. The only change is an enforced one. Chandrika is injured, which means that Shai is once again a middle-order batsman converted into an opener.

Roach keeps his place, and Cummins warms the bench again. Bishoo is still injured, so force-ripe Warrican plays....

Hope's gone.

Maybe WI would get better vibes from an opener called Thebadtimeshave...

Nice recovery though. Off to bed. Maybe WI will have a good day... Don't forget everyone flunks the start of a tour these days... More or less.

Brathwaitte to 50. Good first session for the Windies so far, though I have probably doomed them to loosing a wicket by saying that.

And 1/92 at the end of the session. Couldn't ask for much more if you chose to bat.

Oh dear. Samuels runs himself out, and the covers come on before Samuels gets off the ground.

It looks like it's going to belt down.

We're struggling along at two and a half runs an over...but at least we haven't been bowled out for under 200!

However, Kraigg's 85 shines like a candle in the darkness...Shai out for nine, Lil Bravo for 33, Samuels for four, Blackwood for 11, and Holder for one.
