I would go even further and say this should be the model for final warm-up games on all test tours.

Agree. It's no wonder that so many sides struggle overseas. By the time they've got used to the conditions, the series is already lost.

Shaun Marsh will probably do well in this test. Everything's set up for him - Australian wickets in general have been batting paradises the last couple of years, Adelaide is the flattest of them all, the Kiwi attack is (Southee aside) looking half-baked, and he'll be coming in at 5, when 1) the threat of the new ball will be long gone and 2) given the strength of the top 4 in Australian conditions, there are likely to be bags of runs on the board, so he'll be under no pressure.

This will then keep him in the side until the next tour, when he'll predictably fail again.

Khawaja will come back in. Maybe Marsh is waiting for Voges to retire, or for Mitch3 to be dropped for lack of runs?

Mitch2.1 needs to have one thundering innings in six and the selectors will stick with him.

I think that he is due.

Five single figure scores in the past six,and only one fifty in all, fourteen innings ago, maybe suggests he's overdue. Hope he makes it, as he's an exciting player.

This has been shunted to the middle of the night.

Sort of a shame in a way, that this won't be played in the sunshine.

If it works, then let's hope the next one is in Perth. Almost a decent viewing time :)

Yes, it's a shame it wasn't at the WACA. Maybe one for the next Ashes.

At least two of the three sessions will be.

Sunset is at 8.10pm their time today. I am guessing that this is just after the final session starts.

Bummer. McCullum actually wins a toss. No surprise that NZ bats first.

As the theme song from the Adelaide (Aussie Rules) Football Club, whose home ground is the Adelaide Oval, goes: "it's history in the making".

Hazlewood gets Guptil. I was expecting Pattinson to play, but if Josh continues to bowl well, he might do.

Williamson looks primed for a biggy.

Love the pink ball, it shines out on my screen. Latham's wicket a bonus for Lyon and now the failing McMullan comes in.
Work expands to fill the time available, so why do today what can be put off until tomorrow.

Yep, same here, I fully expected them to rest Hazlewood and play Pattinson as the "enforcer".

At least I was right about them not really considering O'Keefe/2 spinners.
