Switching on the radio and hearing the score being 4 for 2 :!:

I thought "*modded*, that's a bad start but we can recover from losing the openers and still post a decent score..."

...it was only a while later when they ran through the dismissals it dawned on me that Southern Hemisphere commentators announce the wickets fisrt :d'oh:

Strange team that one. Fletcher's first.

MPV's debut. And Gavin Hamilton's.

Just had a look at that 1999 scorecard. Decent SA team there, Boucher at 9 :o with 5 bowlers plus an unused Kallis
Sports broadcasting media nut miscast as a hard-working family man. Or should that be the other way around?

Yes, seems a bit unfair. Though England had just beaten them at home, rather controversially, and were about to have a good record against them over the next few series.

Anderson definitely ruled out now.

Press saying Woakes will play.

Marcus Trescothick scoring a double century in the Oval 2003 test, followed by Bicknell and Harmison tearing through South Africa in the 2nd innings to inspire an unlikely England victory.

I vividly remember Martin Bicknell bowling well in the 1st innings without reward. He didn't have out and out pace but bowled wicket to wicket with swing and movement in batsman friendly conditions.
"Stats are there to be broken" Dominic Cork
"They took all our players away, banned our captain and we still came away with a ten-wicket victory" Jason Gillespie
"You won't get anywhere slouching about half out of bed" Geoffrey Boycott
