66-3 at lunch. Wickets for both seamers. Good catch by Hales. Footitt seems injured though.

What's going on with the bowling rate, 30 overs in 3 hours. Was there a late start?
Work expands to fill the time available, so why do today what can be put off until tomorrow.

Four for for Finn.

Guess that's the last place spoken for.

Not much of note in the Saffer cupboard, it seems...Reeza Hendricks, Rilee Roussouw and Quinton deKock, all of whom are tipped to be future, failed to make a significant mark. That was left to 33 year old Cook....

let's see if they do better in the second innings.

That's a big bonus. Be interesting to see the batting order. Ali ahead of Bairstow imo.

He's already in. Looks like Cook has secured his spot alongside him.

I've read that, based on nets, Woakes was set to play in the first Test. Finn might have changed that. Though, obviously Woakes didn't have the chance to take wickets, and it's a bit kneejerk to change plans based on a day of cricket. It may have been that on a Durban pitch suiting more attritional cricket, likely to swing, Woakes will play, and Finn get the bouncier wicket at the Wanderers.

Cook scoring sixes, is that an indication of the bowling quality.
