Judging them by their fcas, this is a good attack.

BBC not showing a scorecard for this, which may say something about how warm ups are discredited after the games in WI and UAE.

Nonetheless , 50 for Ben. I suppose he's alright to bowl after his injury.

Maybe, but judging by the SA selectors difficulties in finding a strong test line up, one wonders what the standard of batting they've bowled against. Taylor and Stokes seem to be having a jolly old time against them.
Work expands to fill the time available, so why do today what can be put off until tomorrow.

Phehlukwayo is an excellent young bowler. But don't know much about the others. Probably like a second division county attack.

The only way to test that is for him to bowl in all 4 innings of the 2 friendly games with increasing workload in each innings. Can't understand why he's still batting.

Nine bowlers used so far so it seems the BBC have made a good call. This has turned into as big a farce as one could think of making these runs worthless.

Aren't these initial games nearly always farcical, like when we play a Bradman XI?

The batting order has so far reflected what England probably see as their top eight.

Warm up games in Aus tend to be quite meaningful, just the tour opener is traditionally a semi-social event. Last time, the teams were weaker though, so maybe that is changing.

A couple of retired not outs on the board. Will Cook and Hales come out again?

Maybe interesting to see which of Woakes and Footitt will bat.

Woakes will bat at 9, Footitt at 11.

So... not indicative of anything. Except they're not out in the cold with Samit, Jos and CJ.

These days no one takes warm up games seriously.
Either the teams are weak, too Short, pitches are not exactly great.
Problem is that no one really want to beat or do well against the international teams before the Test series like they did before.
I still remember those days when players doing well in these games can often be pushed in the pecking order and get a spot in the international squad or team.

Also why can't A team play more often as clearly the Counties, States Sides don't want to play the best team since they have other competitions to worry about.
