"Plunkett has been called into England's limited-overs squad in South Africa after the ECB confirmed that the side strain picked up by Steven Finn during the Johannesburg Test has ended his tour."

The funny thing is that Jordan put his name down for the PSL and was bought. When our ODI squad was named the PSL franchise had to drop Jordan. Why they thought he wouldn't be in England's ODI squad is a mystery. The player then the PSL wanted was Plunkett and he signs up but he gets the England call and before leaving for SA gets injured.

If Plunkett is definitely out then they should go for Curran but I think they would go for Overton.

So, Steyn is out of the ODIs, and Broad is back.

I thought they would just pick Broad for test matches only to prolong his career.

England realky need to look for long term selections in ODIs.

I am amazed Gloucestershire's David Payne is not even considered for England, whether it's the full side or Lions. Left arm quick, averages 22.4 in List A cricket, strike rate of 23.8. How can anyone with figures like that be overlooked?

Cricinfo has 11v11. No woakes, Stokes, Root and Broad. Hales, Roy and Morgs get starts then get out.
