"West Indies Twenty20 captain Darren Sammy says the unofficial warm-up games against Zimbabwe and Warwickshire will be used to help tour selectors determine the best XI for the upcoming T20 World Cup in India. The Windies face Zimbabwe in the first of four warm-up games at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium on Saturday at 7:30 pm (11:30 am Eastern Caribbean time). They take on the African unit again on Monday before clashing with Warwickshire on March 4 and again two days later."

"A Dwayne Bravo half-century was enough to lift West Indies to an 18-run victory over Zimbabwe in their first unofficial Twenty20 warm-up yesterday in preparation for the T20 World Cup here. The right-hander struck 55 as West Indies tallied 147 for seven off their 20 overs at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium. Wicketkeeker Denesh Ramdin hit 40 and Captain Darren Sammy an unbeaten 21. Seamers Tinashe Panyangara (2-30) and Tendai Chatara (2-37) finished with two wickets apiece. In reply, Zimbabwe were limited to 129 for seven with Richard Mutumbami leading with 40, Malcolm Waller getting 33, and Panyangara 25."

"Openers Johnson Charles and Andre Fletcher punished Zimbabwe with exhilarating unbeaten half-centuries to lead West Indies to an emphatic 10-wicket victory in their second warm-up game here yesterday. Chasing 154 at Sharjah Cricket Stadium, West Indies romped to their target in the 13th over, with Charles belting 92 not out off 48 balls and Fletcher striking 56 not out off 33 deliveries. Zimbabwe had earlier tallied 152 for seven off their 20 overs, with the stylish Vusi Sibanda top-scoring with 64 and Sikandar Raza getting 23. The right-handed Sibanda, opening the batting, faced 56 balls and struck eight fours in adding 53 for the fifth wicket with Raza, who gathered a four and a six off 13 balls in his knock."

this was a hammering!

Rohit Sharma hit 98 not out off 57 balls, while Jerome Taylor (2-26), Suleimann Benn (2-30) and Carlos Brathwaite (1-30) were our most economical bowlers. Set 186 to win, we were bowled out for 140, Chris Gayle topscoring with 20.

Worryingly, it seems that if Gayle doesn't score runs, the others don't....

England's spinners saving the seamers blushes again

I would be tempted to play Dawson and go in with three spinners and three seamers

Chris Jordan actually has an awful record in domestic T20 so not sure why he is even near the squad

He has 17 wickets @42 with an economy rate of 9

ah.... but he had a good match with the bat once.... sometime..... but good enough to override any concerns about his poor record with the ball

Rashid has done well, by the looks of it. England right back in the game
