Pathetic effort from India so far. Scoring at 5 an over.

Rohit dropped by Shakib and then goes 4 6 4! India finally up to a run a ball now.

Below par performance so far from us. not enough runs on board at end of 13 overs

Dominant latter performance from India after a very tame start.

Heavy win for india then. Their bowling seems consistent.
Trying to think what would be the English equivalent of recalling Nehra. Sidebottom could come back and do a fine job, but I reckon Ashish predated him. He made his Test debut in Jan 1999! It's like Freddie coming back.

Ashish Nehra might be india go to man for ICC events.
he randomly made it to the squad for the 2011 world cup and now he randomly made it for this world cup both times he was out of the reckoning for like 3-4 years.
Anyway it is a good move he did look good at last year ipl and his bowling well at the moment.
Dhoni and Selectors both said they went for Nehra because of his experience and the fact he knows what he is doing.
It always cracks me up how india somehow always gets a consistent bowling attack for the ICC events.
Even Sanjay Manjrekar said india bowling looks strong for the tournament and it is the batting which might be a problem.
Sidebottom is older than Nehra but Ashish Nehra played loads of times for india when he was young.

although saying that Cricket is a funny game for fast bowlers.
Ashish nehra suffered loads of injuries and looked very injury prone during his peak years.
yet Zaheer khan was mostly fit during his peak years and looks very injury prone and unfit now yet Ashish nehra is probably at his best now and looks fitter than most players far younger than him but wasn't able to play for years when younger because being injured or unfit.
Although it could just be that nehra finally found the level and format that suit his body.
plus Nehra played far less cricket than someone with 19 years of experiance should have played maybe that played a part in why he looked fit right now and other players his age can not suddenly get picked for the national team.

He wasn't recalled randomly for 2011 World Cup. Had been recalled in 2009 after a great IPL and had been a consistent part of the side for 2 years.

Wasn't really guaranteed a spot in the squad before the tournament.
but yes he was in the team during 2009-2010.

Another excellent bowling performance from UAE but their batting is letting them down.

A lot of crowing about the UAE bowling but I was impressed with Bangladesh's bowling too. A lot of the focus will be on the lack of strength of the UAE batsmen but the technique showed by the Bangladesh bowlers was spot on.
