Australia in South Africa T20I Series

Postby The Professor » Fri Mar 04, 2016 9:59 pm

1st T20I boiled down to battle of the spinners.

Tahir in different league

Duminy and Maxwell much of a muchness

Zampa just not good enough.

Very unfair on Zampa. It was Tye who cost Australia the game again.

I'm not necessarily talking about today....just in general.....don't know enough about Tye to judge him yet

Zampa has played 3 international matches, was very impressive in NZ and economical yesterday. Gave away only 5 overs in the 19th over for christ's sake. Apparently, this sample size is enough for you to make a "general" judgement. Not as bad as having Matt Henry as one of the top Test players of the month I suppose. :?

The middle order batting was an absolute disgrace. I don't rate Tye but silly to blame any bowler for that defeat. If anything, they did well to be in a position of strength with the ball at one point. Winning that match due to a good bowling performance would've papered over the batting issues. Still, need to win some matches to build up some momentum ahead of the WT20. 5 match losing streak in T20Is currently... :panic

Should be Amla, de Kock, de Villiers and du Plessis as the top 4. Why Berhardien? Aus win the toss and will bowl.

Just noticed there is a T20 being played today. It's the second game. I had no idea there'd been a first.

Seems odd to play this so close to the World Championship.

7 T20I fifties as captain by Faf du Plessis - most by any captain in T20Is.

I can't believe the sheer amount of full toss no balls the umpires have missed here, they have only called one.
