Pakistan making a cautious start. Fifty for Shan Masood. I'd guess this is Amir's first game in UK since his spell in jail.

not the strongest bowling line up from Somerset.
Also see a weird A tour happening in England.
Sri lanka and Pakistan A both in England but not playing England lions which is odd.

sorry just checked england lions are only playing the one day stuff, with only pakistan A and sri lanka A playing first class games.

Groenewald, Trego and Leach are first team regulars and Davey has played in the CC this season. But maybe not the best CC attack anyway.

wouldn't call Trego a test quality bowler or someone that will prepare the pakistani batsman for the challenges ahead in the test matches.
leach and Groenewald are good bowlers though but the issue is that they won't bowl many overs.

majority of the overs bowled by players from the 2nd team or youngsters, not really a good preparation for the Test matches.

Two for Amir now. 39-3. Good start. The England summer really needs a strong performance from Pakistan.

if Anderson and broad are unfit the series will be close.
with broad and Anderson england will thrash pakistan and pretty much every team at home without them two it get close and the away team got a chance of winning series or games against England at England.

Somerset getting trashed by Pakistan.
remarkably this might actually be the first time a county side been thrashed during the last 5-10 yrs which is quite remarkable considering how many players they rest for the games.

looks like Pakistan will be a huge threat in this series.

Run a ball ton for Tresco in the second innings, and nothing for the Pakistan seamers. Looks like we're heading for a draw.

TBH 3 day games generally produce draws especially when both team generally play for practice and time in the middle and not trying to win the game.
Pakistan were still batting when they could have declared or made somerset follow on.

Surprised Amir's Test average is as high as 29. Imran's is slightly better of the touring pace bowlers. Amir has never played a UAE series, and only played one in Asia, in SL. Whereas Yasir has never played a Test outside Asia. His 76 wickets in 12 games is phenomenal. Bet he won't see much rough.

Fastest to 100 Test wickets.

Should separate records pre-WWI really. If Shah beats Grimmett, Pakistan will have done pretty well.

Doesn't look the strongest of teams put out by Sussex.
