just catching up with the coverage Root talking lots of ******* in the interview in the morning.
this isn't the old stereotypical pakistan.
what I have seen of pakistan they been very fit, motivated and focus can't see them being unpredictable, frustrating and inconsistent like the streotypical pakistan.

Maybe a bit in the field, but Lord's has often been a tough catching ground for tourists.

My team for the next test would be

Cook
hales
Borthwick
root
ballance
bairstow
stokes
woakes
rashid
broad
jimmy

Two players back from injury then two changes that have to be made

I'm really getting sick of the lack of spine moeen is showing, he bowls pies with the ball and the less said about his batting the better

Vince just looks out of his depth but I could understand them giving him another game, I would consider moving him to 6 then moving ballance and bairstow up a slot

With 5 bowlers I feel we can risk rashid especially if moeen is gonna get clattered anyway

England lost because in cruical phases, they lost their heads.

Pakistan came to play proper test cricket, and really dug in when they needed to and produced partnerships that won the game.

Not suprised that an England cricket has resorted to tired cliche, or arrogance, mind.

I often get the feeling (a bit like Warne's famous criticism of Monty) that England batters come to each situation, as if facing it for the first time. They try to learn from their mistakes anew every innings. They look for a method as their innings progresses.

Certainly that used to be a failing in ODIs, when each time they'd look like they'd never built an innings or chased a total before.
I always say that everybody's right.

Saying that surprised lord had one empty stand available today.
doesn't actually look good on the telly, Bumble, Atherton already talking about it.

TBH the only reason that part is empty is that when buying the tickets we had the option of the 60 pounds seats or the 70 pounds seats and most people brought the 70 pound ticket since they assumed the 60 pounds were poor or awful seats.

Was quite odd though interest wasn't that high for the tickets, Queue wasn't that big think lords fully sold out around 2pm I think.

Still the biggest mystery how he was england greatest cricketer.

I've heard Botham described as England's greatest all rounder, which is mostly fair in the post war era, and you could argue that that defines him as the best cricketer of that era, but I can't recall Botham being described as England's greatest cricketer in a meaningful way.

Make no mistake, in his pomp Botham was a fantastic player, but England's greatest? Unlikely.

The biggest issue was how Root threw his wicket away twice. He's the best batsmen in the side, now arguably in the most important position in the line up. He needs to front up at OT and put the aggressive bluster behind him.

The only "change" - distinguished from injured played coming back - I'd make would be giving Ali the rest of the season back at Worcs, you can't be wasting your wicket like that in a tight run chase. Needs some wet and windy first class games to cool his head off.

LOL cook getting offended at pakistan celebration at the end of the game.

But it is fine to water the pitch at the oval lol.

Then england players wonder why all team barring NZ hate England players so much they act so arrogant off the field.

Anyway idiotic comment by Cook considering the Pakistani fans will hammer him/team in the games and considering how loud they can be it would probably backfire on England.

They probably only about 1K pakistani fans today and they were by far the loudest and they pretty much heard on the coverage all day as well.
Expecting far more in Manchester and Birmingham as well.

Cook/England are really losing it at the moment.

Cook rather worrying about the opposition celebration surely you should be more worried about your batting performaces, your team performances and trying to get your team to beat pakistan rather worrying about off field minor stuff like celebration lol.

Were they playing Jerusalem during this game? I don't remember hearing it blaring out when England came onto the field.
Work expands to fill the time available, so why do today what can be put off until tomorrow.

We were essentially behind the whole game probably from the moment we lost the toss and never caught up, even when we took the last two wickets quickly yesterday morning.

Not many people expected us to chase down the runs, so we can make excuses for poor batting, but there was the normal sense of inevitably to it all. We could have had ten go's at it and may have got home once.
