Same squad I gather for the final test so Vince must be ok.

I'm also guessing no suspension for Anderson's behaviour.

Suggestions of ball tampering aired on Pakistan tv.

Bayliss says Rashid may come in for the next Test. He actually always says this! This would be for Finn.

Both teams were getting a little reverse swing according to the verdict panel on SKY.

I hope they do take the extra spinner as the Oval seems ripe for it at present. Rain might make a difference though.
Work expands to fill the time available, so why do today what can be put off until tomorrow.

god knows how Anderson got away with it again.
At the least should have gotten a small fine a joke of a decision.
Supposedly him speaking to the media saved his skin.

You have to see the funny side of the Pakistani media accusing England of ball tampering to get reverse swing.

guessing the pakistani media is making crap up to justify the news channels having a team down for the tour and I believe one pakistani journalist insulted sohail khan on the day he got a 5fer on day 1.

he has plenty of history but always seems to get away with it - certainly seems to be different rules, or no rules at all, for jimmy

I would have thought giving the umpire a volley and then snatching his jumper would have been cause for a routine fine.

The umpire looked pretty pleased to be warning him for running on the pitch just afterwards.

Nothing about over rates either.

over rates were given an all clear an hour after which was a joke as well.
9 overs short is apparently fine.

Hope anderson not gone back to his bad days.
After jadeja he was actually good on this field and McCullum also then played a role on Anderson and england.

if I was in a field with Anderson, McGrath reckon I would be banned for a few games, would have probably decked them on the field or something especially if I got a bat on my hand.

Some Sledging is ok, but being outright rude and insulting is not.

Think the worse offence is that Anderson doesn't like batsman hitting him and loses it when bowlers take him apart sometimes especially in docile wickets, during those times he goes way over the top.

Anyway what happened to ICC hard stance on Sledging lol, Any send off were meant to be an automatic fine, yet abuse to the umpires is fine lol.

even if he did it shouldn't mean he doesn't get a fine or not being reported, considering all cases of sledging or things like this the player generally apologises and then accepts the punishment.

umpires would have surely reported him to the match referee after the game and he would have a case to answer which Anderson would probably agree to it and then get a small fine or whatever punishment he gets.

Really the ECB point system is so much better than the ICC current system.

actually looking at this article, it makes ICC sound more tootless then it is.

Sledging/Over rates are the biggest crime ICC want to clamp down yet in this test Anderson gave a volley to the umpire and england were 9 overs short and the end result both are fine lol.

If anything the biggest crime is to be abusive to the umpires.

Anderson says he needs his anger to function (try that excuse in court) which is annoyingly self justifying. In my opinion. And it's the kind of arrogance that makes them hard to like. I accept it's tough to win, and maybe it's asking too much to win, and play the right way, but they make the choice. As we know, Anderson isn't a respected player in terms of his sportsmanship (as SL and Dhoni have said), and I'll always feel it is sad if you can spend your life in something as ambassadorial as sport is, with the opportunity to build bridges across the world, (even if just in terms of personal friendships) and yet spread so much acrimony.

Sledging/abusing the opposition, and showing disrespect to the umpire are two separate misdemeanours. The latter is a bit of a step further than the former.

Thought he said after NZ series that he doesn't need anger anymore to function in the field and that NZ showed him how cricket should be played.

Think the players get annoyed the most on the way Anderson sledges, like I said earlier he tends to get very angry when batsman hit him and then tends to take it way too seriously and tend to get abusive for a while after.
Compare that to Mitch johnson or someone similar where the sledging only really happens for a short while and is over after the over is finished where as Anderson is known to carry on afterwards.

no denying fast bowling is hard work and most would sledge a bit but big difference being Abusive and generally not being liked in world cricket.
TBH Mcgrath was quite similar to Anderson in this regard although think McGrath was more liked outside the game.
Quite baffling really since both men are quiet and nice outside but come in the cricket field both are abusive and nasty.
Surprising aspect is that no one responded to Anderson yet on the field.
