Swear down all the people saying if Rashid played he wouldn't do any better than Ali are missing the fact Rashid was bowling better in england this summer than last winter and then add in the fact Rashid only played 3 test so way too early to call him better or worse than ali from that sample. Even the great Warne was average and crap in his first 3 test.

Then add in the fact england touring india this winter and it is plain stupidity Rashid didn't play this summer.

He took 5 wickets and got out two of the best players of spin ever in younus and misbah on the way

He bowled perfectly well in that series when misbah wasn't hitting perfectly good balls for six

Another good effort from JB1. Not got a ton in the series yet (only one fifty), but this would probably be the toughest for the side should he get there (one each for Mo, Cook and Root).

I think the behaviour of Hales in this test might tip the balance against him. I cannot remember a player storming into the match referee's office in the way he apparently did. Then of course his antics toward Pakistan players on the field and his petulant decision to review yesterday just add to the list.

Its like you could almost just lift up the batting order by one place. Drop on Batsman and then bring in a spin bowler, and hey presto, England would look pretty balanced.

Hales was as well
only really Anderson, Ali been to state school.
And finn went to one of the best school in the uk and is essentially a state school type private school.

even most people in the county game are from private school upbringing which really isn't that surprising considering urban areas/states school don't have the facilities to produce cricketers.
