The record isn't bad outside Asia, just insignificant.

Hasn't he got about 7 more matches till he has to play overseas again? By then he might well have 300 wickets :laugh

His record outside Asia is buoyed a little by games in the WI.

He has 46 wickets in his last five home Tests, and he has another five coming up against England.

Whatever Ashwin acheives, Harby may once again give a comment in media that he is India's number 1 spinner.

It happened last time when Harby was note selected in test squad and then he gave that comment.

Jadeja has 25 in those matches. Time to re-evaluate his bowling?

Dominating display by India closes the series out. Not only wickets for Ashwin but two runouts as well. An astonishing series in every respect.
Work expands to fill the time available, so why do today what can be put off until tomorrow.

Jadeja actually has started getting sharp turn in addition to extra bounce which Kumble used to get on some type of wickets. Being leftie and turning it away from right handed batters, he provides good variety to spin attack when bowling in tandem with Ashwin. Also he makes the batsmen play a lot rather than bowling a line which batsmen can do a well left to. Mishra is also a quality spinner on bench.

MY SERIES RATINGS

IND

Rahul - 5
Vijay - 5 (186 runs at 31..dissapointing after a good first test)
Pujara - 10 (373 runs at 62, dont know why this guy's place is always in question..first batsman on the sheet for me)
Kohli - 10 (sparking double hundred, and some execcelent captaincy)
Rahane - 10 (347 runs at 57, consistent as usual)
Rohit - 9 (238 runs at 47, much needed runs from him)
Ashwin - 9 (stunning with the ball, only marked him down due to him being in the top 7, and now having quiet series with the bat)
Saha - 8 (2 half centuries in 3 innings, and kept well)
Jadeja - 9
Shami - 7
Yadav - 5
Dhawan - 3
Bhuvi - 8 (one test, one -5 fer, bowled well, shame he got injured)
Gambhir - 6

NZ

Guptill - 4 (one half century and that's it..he isn't a test match opener..maybe worth switching him and Ronchi in the order?)
Latham - 5 (3 half centuries, but never kicked on..and NZ were let down by their batting order, never kicking on)
Willamson - 6
Taylor - 2 (dreadful series for Taylor..89 runs at 14)
Ronchi - 6
Santner - 6
Watling - 6 (unusually quiet series for BJ, NZ need him back to his best sooner rather than later)
Craig - 4 (one test, 2 wickets, didn't look threatning, struggled with the bat)
Boult - 7 (solid)
Wagner - 6
Sodhi - 5
Nicholls - 4
Henry - 5
Patel - 5
Neesham - 5

Kohli gets a 10 for failing in 4 out of the 6 innings but only 9 for Ashwin? :?

I think this ODI series will be high scoring series.
Hardik will play as all rounder.
Dhawal, Jasprit, Mishra, Axar and Hardik will be bowling unit.
Rohit, Ajinkya, Virat, Manish,Dhoni and Kedar will be sp batters in that batting order for 1st ODI.

Dew will impact spin bowling as all matches are Day night.

According to Cricinfo Umesh will play instead of Dhawal.

ODI debut for Hardik. Binny and Rishi experiment havent worked in short formats. Irfan Pathan has not been replaced yet. Both Binny and Rishi were good only for domestic level.

Hardik gets chance now as pace bowling All rounder. He too has played in shorter format, but his experiment is not yet over.

Dhoni chose to bowl so that dew factor does not affects bowlers.
