Got the big wicket.

Looks like SA A. No Amla, ABDV, Steyn, Morkel.

Indeed, I don't know how international cricket benefits from introducing whipping boy sides. How many international class players do Ireland even have? Looking at their top three in this game they all have very underwhelming first class records, there's obviously Joyce but he's nearly 38 now.

It might work better with two divisions. So they will play BD and Zim and WI, and the best of the weaker teams at any one time gets promoted.

Without two divisions, it's going to be a farce. Ireland in India?

Wont happen, not enough money for the BCCI.

Have India even had Bangladesh play there yet and they have had test status since 2000.

By the same reasoning, no one will want to host them, or even play them at all, except maybe as a warm up before a tour of England. They'd have to be forced to by a FTP type structure. But then England won't play Zimbabwe, India won't play Pakistan...

Bavuma seems to have scored a ton on his debut.

And is speeding up, as FDP slows things down.

Don't see the problem of teams playing Ireland before an England tour. At least for one test. Would be no good for teams like Sri Lanka who would have to play them in March..... It would be better than some of the 16 a side warm ups against county b teams that seem to happen at present.

But A lot of teams would thrash them, and they don't seem to be as good a one day unit as they were a few days ago. Almost feels like Irelands time has passed for now. For me they needed to be playing these type of games 5 years ago.

Bavuma scores a 100 on debut :salute

It wouldn't be much of a problem playing before an early tour of UK, because they would replace the warm ups, much as England are using a trip to BD before going to India. Though the weather might be an issue.

Maybe 400 not on, with ABDV not playing? (put that in so Mike doesn't move the post...)

A second wicket has fallen.

If ABD was playing this could have been 600...if he'd got in to bat of course.
