"West Indies have dropped Kieron Pollard and Denesh Ramdin from their ODI squad for next month's tri-series in Zimbabwe, which also features Sri Lanka. Courtney Browne, the head of West Indies' selection committee, informed Pollard and Ramdin about their axing via email."

"Veteran batsman Marlon Samuels has pulled out of the West Indies squad for the Tri-Nation One-Day International (ODI) series in Zimbabwe this month and will be replaced by gifted Test wicket-keeper/batsman Shane Dowrich of Barbados. Informed sources told BCAcricket.org that the 35-year-old Samuels, a veteran of 187 ODIs since his debut 16 years ago, did not sign his tour contract at the deadline for the series which embraces Zimbabwe, West Indies and Sri Lanka. Samuels is also one of three current West Indies players who declined central contracts offered by the West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) for the period 2016-17. The others are experienced batsman Darren Bravo and fast bowling all-rounder Carlos Brathwaite…Dowrich, who celebrated his 25th birthday on October 30, has played eight Tests but is yet to make his ODI debut. He will now be the ninth Barbadian in the 15-man squad and the second to be drafted in over the past 11 days after Miguel Cummins replaced fellow fast bowler Alzarri Joseph."

"WICB has replaced batsman Darren Bravo in the West Indies squad for the ODI tri-series in Zimbabwe with Jason Mohammed. The announcement came a day after Bravo reacted on Twitter to WICB chairman Dave Cameron's interview, where he had said Bravo was offered a grade C contract due to his slipping batting average....The WICB release also said offspinner Sunil Narine would be returning home due to personal reasons, and he will be replaced by legspinner Devendra Bishoo."

Well, that was a thrashing...Sri Lanka beat Zimbabwe by eight wickets with more than 25 overs remaining. Gunaratne took three games to help dismiss Zimbabwe for a paltry 154, Moor topscoring with 47. Jaya de Silva then hit 71 not out to lead Sri Lanka to victory.

Lewis out for 27...got a start, and got out.

Shai out for 47 off 81 balls.

Another wicket. Unfamiliar looking WI ODI side.

It is, isn't it? Samuels and Fletcher say they would rather play T20 cricket in the BPL, Narine withdrew from the squad, Pollard and Ramdin were dropped, and the problems with Lil Bravo are well known now.

Who are the names that are unfamiliar to you?

Carter out for a run-a-ball 54...much better.
:clap
Rovman Powell out for a quickfire 44 from 29 balls!
:dance
Wickets tumbling now...Carlos out for 14, and Holder for two.

I know them all, just not all of them, altogether in the team at the same time.

Actually, Rovman Powell is new to me.

Some sort of score on the board.

Powell has made a big impact in Jamaica's success in the CPL...and his six-hitting was important in this game.

As you say, the veterans are out, and the fringe players are all in.

Windies 227 all out...two wickets each for Kula, Lakmal and Pradeep.

Cheers. Bit of a disappointing end. But maybe it's an advantage to bowl the spinners second. Unless there's dew, but this is a day game.

Two wickets for Holder and a run out in the first ten overs...nice.
:)
Two wickets for Nurse...good work!

Make that three...SL are seven down.
