Bangladesh V England Test Series 2016

Postby hopeforthebest » Sat Oct 15, 2016 12:01 pm

A think this two match series is entitled to a thread.

My team for first test:

Cook
Duckett
Root
Ballance
Bairstow
Stokes
Moeen
Woakes
Batty
Rashid
Broad

Three Spinners and three pace bowlers should provide the right balance.
Work expands to fill the time available, so why do today what can be put off until tomorrow.

When I think of the season Ballance had in CC1 I wonder what he's doing in the squad. Wouldn't mind if Haseeb opened and Duckett went in at four. But that might feel too inexperienced for England. I like three seamers, three spinners.

Got a hunch Ball is going to figure though, and only two spinners.

Don't know if Cook is back from paternity visit.

I have Balance in not by choice but because I'm sure he'll be picked.

OK day for Ansari. And Cook still in UK. Wonder if there's a chance he won't make the series.

Also looks like Vaughan never seen Bangladesh play test cricket recently at home.
lol he actually thinks england will win 2-0 easily.
England might eventually win the series but highly doubt they will have it easy reckon the bowlers will struggle to take wickets at times and the batsman will struggle against the spinners.

Said this couple of months ago but reckon this is Bangladesh best chance of winning a test match or series that actually counts.
they been quite unlucky in recent years, teams not touring or rain ruining things.

Find it surprising people think England will win easily considering Bangladesh pushed england in the one day series.

Although most english fans I read think the tour will be challenging so far looks like the pundits have been clueless.

The biggest challenge will be the batsman excluding Root/Cook adapting to the very very slow pitch and the low bounce and then the english bowlers causing Bangladesh strong batting line up trouble in pretty flat turgid conditions and will be a challenge without Anderson as well.
Bangladesh often pick 8 or 9 batsman in test matches.
in their last test Nasir Hossain was batting at 8.

I be honest on paper in these condition the teams are quite level.
Maybe england will win the series but wouldn't say for certain they will have it easy or dominate Bangladesh in the series.
for one struggling to see how england take 20 wicket here or excluding Cook/Root where the runs will come from.
loads of question marks to suggest they will have it easy.

the only advantage England got is that Bangladesh don't know how to win Test matches or they hardly play it, Bangladesh last test was 18 months ago.

Six wickets for the Surrey spinners. Wonder why Rashid didn't get a bowl?

Expecting England to win the Tests 2-0. A drawn series will be a major setback for Cook in a contest seen as prep for the India tour. Captaincies have been lost less deservedly. And this after drawing at home to Pakistan. 1-0 will be a disappointment.

Ben stokes refuses to hand shake bangladesh players in the warm up game.
bit surprised Ben Stokes wants to wind up bangladesh players before the test series.
