Kohli got dropped around 50 and bowling was poor.
not like the massive partnership occurred with no chances given or it faced any good bowling.
England could have easily won the game if they played better losing the toss.

Toss has a impact. All capatains want to win it because they want to bat first. Out of last 15 matches 12 captains have opted to bat first.

I wish we win next toss as well. Want avoid batting on day 4 and 5.

Ansari must be a must, he hardly did anything on this game didn't bat or bowl.
England literally went to the game with 10 players and really were 9 if you include duckett and if broad didn't bowl 8.
Suspect Ansari was the reason why broad took the risk and bowled in the 2nd innings.

TBH that where england loss the game didn't pick the right team or really the Squad.

if England wanted to make changes to the squad now they probably would drop one of Ball, Finn or both, Ballance and Ansari.

Baffling how the lions haven't played a game yet, they really need some options and players to call up.

Anyway enough of the moaning, thought the pitch was quite good and played well.
England can't have too many complaints yet considering runs was possible and games lasted 5 days unlike the SA pitches and at the same time Kohli would be very pleased since if they did lose the toss, Ashwin got something to work with on day 1 and should be noted it had help for the bowlers on all days so if you a good bowler you get wickets, good batsman should also get runs and poor batsman also fail.
suspect Vizag would be a template for Mohali, Mumbai and chennai with the difference being the pace and bounce depending on local conditions and maybe the turn in the red soil of Chennai and Mumbai.

Kohli actually got a pretty good captaincy record only 2 losses in 19 test.
11 wins, 2 losses and 6 draws and 2 of those losses india were very close to a win as well.
Adelaide india probably choked and should have actually went for the draw in the end.
Galle 2 bad session lost the game otherwise dominated the game and should have actually won the game if Ashwin and Jadeja bowled more instead of Mishra and the pace men bowling.
India should have actually won that game by an innings but shows how great an innings Chandimal played that he literally won the game for Sri lanka.
Although all the away test have been in easy countries or Asia where india are so strong anyway but he did captain well in Australia though and was probably the turning point in Dhoni retiring in the first place.

In the battle of the all rounders.
Ashwin 167 runs at an average 41 and 11 wickets at an average of 31
Ben Stokes 233 runs at an average of 77. 2 wickets at an average of 80

Stokes edges the batting, Ashwin with the ball.
Although at the moment looks like Stokes is being picked as a batsman and not a bowler or an all rounder really whereas Ashwin being picked to contribute with both at the moment.

If you control "f" on every page of this test match thread, there is an average of 38 mentions of the toss per page, 99.9% of which are from Bhaveshgor.

Can we please talk about something else.

Duckett's test career over?

Kohli is obsessed with intent, maybe he's right time will tell. http://www.espncricinfo.com/india-v-eng ... 67603.html I think it's the main reason we dropped Pujara before.

TBH he probably got a point, England were quite defensive on day 1 and 2 and was costly in the end.
Although Root was the catalyst for the problem in the first innings trying to score runs to get the pressure off so intent didn't work there and really if you think about it Pakistan probably lost the NZ test because of being defensive.
Root running out Hameed and then feeling the pressure of being the only guy capable of scoring runs once Cook got out showed in the first innings.
Root two costly mistakes in the first innings probably the turning point in the game.

Bit of a thrashing.

My changes:

Woakes for Broad
Batty for Ansari

Crazy. The batters fail, the bowlers get dropped.
I always say that everybody's right.
