Think If Bhuvi Kumar plays or looks in consideration of playing then it will give clues to how India thinks the pitch will play.
Think the idea is if he plays then they think the pitch will help the seam men.

DM had photo evidence and they probably got the pictures and information from the SA legal team since they used Kohli and Warner in their case, although SA cricinfo correspondent did say ICC had no issues with what kohli/Warner did.
the new link doesn't show the pictures though.
TBH the images are not that clear what Kohli did but it is very obvious that he shined the ball using a gum.
Be interesting to see the Warner images if anyone ever leaks those since no idea how he brought a lip balm with him and applied it on his hands before getting the ball.

Think I read Stokes might go 4, Ali 5, Buttler 6, bairstow 7.
although Ali might go 6 and separate the left handers.
If I was england I would just have a flexible batting line up.

Hameed,
Root
Stokes and then after that if a left hander get out a left hander replaces him, a right hander than a right hander.
watching the game India couldn't really handle bowling to a left hander and right hander at the same time, the pace men lost line and the spinners were less accurate as well.
Not sure it makes any difference what position Buttler, Ali, Bairstow, Woakes etc bat in.

If Buttler is a specialist bay, it might be argued that he should come in ahead of the all rounders who will be looking to the top four to give them some time off the field. Though alternatively, he might come in where they feel he will score the most runs.

In the ICC test player ranking Kohli moves up 10 slots to 4th.
Scored highly in the test with most batsman apart from Pujara failing and england have a strong bowling attack.
First time kohli been in the top 10 in the test rankings
Wouldn't surprise me if Kohli becomes number 1 or 2 soon in the world only 22 pts separate Root and Kohli.
Bairstow ranked 12 and stokes 28
for the bowlers Shami 21st career high and jadeja at 6th place.

Video not that clear, doubt ICC can do much from that footage.
they basically show a gum in his mouth, a finger in his mouth and minutes later kohli seen shining the ball in his trouser.
Ball wasn't in kohli hands when they showed the gum or him having a finger in his mouth.

hard to actually see him scoring more than 20 at the moment unless he get lucky.
Ashwin interview was quite damning during the last test when he said they were looking forward to damage him and play tricks with him.
even if he stops showing the stumps or planting his leg away from his bat while playing a shot, chances are whatever he does Ashwin will trouble him and he will find news of getting out.
far better getting him out of the firing line and him coming back in the summer and working on his game.
no way he is fixing this flaw in the middle of a series while facing Ashwin and Jadeja at the same time.
