White is also having a very good season with the bat.

He would not have been to worse option for Australia at 6. But not to be.

Steve Smith or Cameron white...........

Seems that Smith and the Australian team have fined Maxwell. Really just don't understand what Maxwell was trying to achieve by his comments. To remind selectors he is about? Get a move to NSW? Just speaking his mind?

What ever the reason, its not a good look for him.

I dont think he was ever touted as any spin genius. His breakthrough year in the Aussie domestic season was about the time that Warne got banned in 2003, and there was suggestions that he could cover in limited overs with MacGill never really seen as a limited overs spinner. In the end Australia picked Brad Hogg, and White never really had another season in cricket where he produced any bowling that could consider him to be a specialist.

He ended up at Somerset in about 2004 and slotted into the top order to bat, and hardly bowled, so the hype about spin didnt last long at all. he had a few years at Somerset and scored lots of runs, no wickets.

Having said that, he was given a debut in the Aussie team after the 2005 Ashes for ODI's, and they used him exclusively as the supersub to bowl.

Seems that the Aussie selectors were the only people who seen bowling potential there. Certainly in England his county wasnt exactly that thrilled to bowl him that much

No Maxwell, Faulkner and Southee leaves my FL team looking light.
Work expands to fill the time available, so why do today what can be put off until tomorrow.
