Who said Test cricket dead in India.
Ratings close to matching SA t20 matches last year, first time for a long time that Test number have even reach these heights before.
also backs my point ages ago about how people in india love watching Test matches in great wickets like mumbai if the pitch got turn and bounce people will watch.
think people enjoyed the mumbai game in England as well.

Everyone enjoys beating England. England are like the melodramatic baddies in a cape and top hat with a large moustache from nineteenth century gothic horrors.
I always say that everybody's right.

yep playing england at home is always a big deal because of the history and tradition for all the test playing nations.
think the english press were also encouraged by the crowds in Mumbai and chennai although they had issues with Chennai but that was mostly because of the awful stadium than the actual crowd or interest.
Good ratings for the Test matches but like always the pitches are the key plus context.

india test ratings 30% higher than last year although not sure why people are still comparing test ratings from the 90s or 2000s obviously TV ratings will be lower with other sports and channels taking a pie of the numbers.

thought it was a good articles since it was explaining how Star Sports is trying to make people interested in Test cricket and making the new cricket converts start watching Test matches.

Really the saddest part was how isolated india was in the 90s reckon test would have been more healthier if india played more meaningful test then IE more england or Australia games.
Star making the point that vast majority of the fans in india haven't been brought up on Test cricket so they don't really watch it since odi was king in the 90s.
Victory over England at Mumbai in the fourth Test was the most-watched game of Test cricket in India since Sachin Tendulkar’s retirement (around 60 million tuned in). Consolation for England, maybe. Their series defeat might just have helped save the game.
