not sure the revenue from a test against bangladesh is going to be a big factor in how they prepare a pitch ;)

There has been quite abit of rain about, particularly day 1 which I think has changed it, NZ won the toss and bowled, so they certainly didn't expect this.

What is going on with this New Zealand team - so strong under McCullum - but now with so many passengers.

Boult and Southee look shadows of their former self. Henry Nichols appears to have comprising photos of one of th selectors because he shouldn't be being selected otherwise. Even de Grandhomme who looked so decent earlier in this series looks like he is getting spotted now.

Nicholls did score 53 to be fair...

Could be an interesting day tomorrow, bit of pressure on Bangladesh in the first session would set up an interesting chase.

Wonder why Munro has never had more chances in the Test side.

Any decent test batsman should back themselves to score runs against Southee, he can be ok and tidy at points in helpful conditions, but he has no real weapons or craft to bowl out decent sides on decent surfaces. Poor batsman from the Windies or Sri Lanka might struggle with that one dimensional approach, but the top batsman of the world arent going to.

Boult only looks good when the ball swings, if it doesnt hes not a difficult proposition to face. Wagner is the best of the three for me, but he can give a few runs away at times, and if he doesnt get the others backing it can go wrong quickly.

Santner looks like a limited overs cricketer who found his way to test cricket through lack of other options.

Yep Wagner the best bowler NZ got.
Boult losing a bit of pace as well which is making him less effective when the ball not swinging.

They did it. Unbelievable from Williamson. Just as we (well I) were wondering if he still deserved the tag of one of the best players in the world.

Team effort from the Kiwi bowlers.

Now we've had teams score over 400 in the first innings and lose three (or is it four) times in three months  Something that had only happened a couple of times in the history of test cricket before 2016.

So, this win in NZ, India chase 350 to win an ODI and Pakistan win their first ODI in Australia for over 10 years. And January isn't even finished yet. Who says cricket's in trouble?

unbelievable win for NZ

it wasn't scoring 400+ and losing that was the rarity BFL, it was scoring 400+ and then losing by an innings, so this one doesn't count for that

cant be many occasions where a team has scored 595 batting first and lost tho
