looking at that bowling card is a bit weird

willey and moeen only bowled 11 overs combined for 65 runs, i know they weren't bowling when the full out slog was on but seems a little strange when stokes, plunkett and ball were so expensive

That what I don't get you have 6 bowlers but you bowl the same 2-3 bowlers near the end.
it was so obvious Yuvi/dhoni were picking the bowlers with ease.
bowling willey/Ali for a few overs would have changed things up a bit.
Even bowl root.

Willey should be bowling more at the death, its ridiclous that he isn't....he's our only real banker at the death........Chris jordan is excellent at the death, but crap at any other time in the innings which is a shame

the argument given is that he doesn't have the out and out pace but we see all the time that pace off the ball at the death can work as long as you get it in the right spots

its not like anyone else is doing great at the death either

mark wood is the guy i think we are missing maybe, but he cant seem to stay healthy

Either the conditions are too batsmen friendly or the bowlers of both teams are very much out of form. I think we can expect another 300 to 375 score in the 3rd match due to batsmen friendly conditions.

England need to improve death bowling/middle overs bowling.
went for 200 runs in the last 20 overs in this game and they struggled in the first game as well.

With todays knock Yuvi has proved he can offer form and big hundred at international level even now. Add Rohit who can score double tons and big 100's it will be a strong batting lineup for CT. The only issue is pace bowling as Hardik still fails to control the line and length. We would not be that good in pace department to exploit the conditions in England. Having said that we won CT 2013 in England without having world class pace bowlers.

Seems the same old selection and game plan issues with England. Ali was the only bowler with semi-respectable figures, yet he bowls 5 overs? Willey takes the new ball and bats a 10, but doesnt get the ball while Englands other seamers are being taken apart, and only bowls 5? If he bats at ten and your middle overs bowlers are going at 8 and over, then why is he there? You may as well not pick him. Woakes has India on the rack and he doesnt return till after the match is basically lost, when he takes the top scorers wicket quickly.....

These are decisions that dont make a lot of sense. Neither does Woakes batting about Willey, who has more 100s in limited overs cricket than Woakes has 50s.

The England pace attack just feels too predictable and similar. The Stokes bang it in with an angry face thing really doesnt work in ODIs, as a limited overs bowler he is as poor a player England have picked long period. Liam Plunkett is also a blunt object, batsman of this calibre arent going to be put off by his slightly higher pace when he bowls so short.

The sheer idea that you can come to India and expect a bowling line up to have 5 overs of spin is pretty mindblowing. England have batting firepower, but so do India. It seems the thing with this team is to outscore the opposition, you arent going to do that in India against these batters.

Last time in India we had Tredwell take 11 wickets at an average of 18. Not sure Moeen or Rashid are capable of that. Still didn't win the series though, but a lot closer at 3-2.

Looks a good effort by England. Though their five man pace attack makes for a scorecard we'll stumble upon one day and wonder if India had rolled out a strip of fresh green meadow.

Suppose you have to accept bowling first was an advantage, so England really should have levelled the series.

This series has proved that we have a very powerful batting line up, and we have to remember that our bowling attack will be a lot more effective at home.

I agree with some of the comments above that the bowling management today was baffling, especially with regards to Willey. I still am perplexed by the dumping of Rashid out of the team.

I feel even if we lose the series 3-0, this has been a pretty successful tour for England.

I can't see how losing 7 games out of 8 can be deemed successful, splinters?
