I wont blame the bowlers of both teams for allowing the batters to score 350+. Both teams have powerful batting lineups and the ground size, wickets, dew are just making it tough.

Even average captaincy after Indian batting collapses in both matches would have won England at least one match.

I'd have thought Billings will open. either that or open with Root and Billings at 3.

Crazy news England been fine for a poor overrate fine.
Surely the news can't be right.

Changing bats, Dhoni changing box and a visit from the physio. Perhaps it's a backdated fine that Cook should have received.

seems likely - they probably think it would look strange to drop Rashid and then bring him straight back in

any other changes you would make?

I am assuming that India will be unchanged

i'd have rashid in, not sure we need 4 seam bowlers, but it has been suggested the eden gardens pitch will be the most favourable to seam that we have seen so far so might work

my main changes would be in the batting lineup, with hales missing i might be tempted to just bump everyone else up a slot and have billings at #6 or #7, dont think it would be that much of an issue to ask root to open given we have seen how successful the likes of amla have done in ODIs at the top of the order

maybe a crazy thought but going in with 6 bowlers plus root might be confusing our bowling plans and having just the 5 specialist bowlers with root as backup might focus the mind better, but thats probably just me being insane

Don't think Root will open. He has a groin niggle. Bairstow probably playing.

one thing that surprised me is that this is India's last ODI before the champions trophy

i know the CT is not as high profile as the world cup but still thought they would have some preparation for it

yes, it's not really very good planning. Ideally they should have lined up some ODIs in Eng to prepare but to not have any ODIs at all is far from ideal

They'll have a couple of warm ups in England before the CT.

Was being Sarcastic, was more wondering how it took so long for england as a team to get a fine.
pretty understandable they got a fine considering England were close to being an hour late in bowling overs.
although I can understand slow overrates in odi not much in Test though where the overs are lost and people are genuinely looking at the clock.
no one was really bothered about it in the odi.

plus time is always made up in ODi so no one really cares how long the game takes.

not announced yet, hopefully some good fixtures probably my only realistic chance of seeing them play this summer.
