just catching up with this game, really didn't see that collapse coming

SA will need to bat for at least 2 sessions tomorrow and that will be tough when they are already 5 down

Looks like there's help with the new ball and NZ will get one after lunch with SA not many ahead.

Sad for the Kiwis, after doing so well to be in this position.

for the second time in the series rain means no play on the final day and both times we had what looked like interesting days lost

Hardly unexpected , given forecasts. But still unfortunate for the Kiwis , who really did look to have an excellent show of winning - really only one pair of true batsmen left to resist them.
And the more impressive considering their loss of three key players : it is often noted NZ suffers from a small pool of players ; but this match was a huge credit to their reserve strength.

Keeps a lucky SA in the 2nd ranking and earns them a pot of money !

Real shame to see the day washed out. It would have been great to see New Zealand draw the series or South Africa bat out the day. That said, both sides knew the likely forecast.
