I remember 2-3 years ago BD were looking around the English leagues for a BD heritage pace bowler. Obviously didn't get anywhere. How come Afghanistan have quickly magicked up a few but BD haven't?

To be fair, Bangladesh have lots of good quick bowlers in ODIs, just like Afghanistan do. Not really sure if any Afghan seamers would do well in Tests either.

Mustafizur and Taskin are both promising bowlers but need more overs under their belt before they can really do anything in Tests.

Good point. That shouldn't have escaped me.

If BD get out of this with a draw- big if- it would show up England a little. Still a way to go to get past the follow on, but if they did, they might bat for a session. India would have to bat to near the close before they declared, leaving BD a day to bat out. Still tough though.

Excellent stuff by Team India. Innings win is very likely. 322 more runs to make to make India bat again.

Edit

I thought we declared and Bangla were 63/2.

Leading by 361 runs. Declaration is likely in this session itself with score around 450.

4 sessions for BD to survive.

Review turned down for India. Good stand here for Soumya and Mominul, but 15 overs to go (overs must be getting bowled slowly, the close is in half an hour). Hope they make it to the close as it will make for a more interesting last day.

I see Tamim's wicket was taken on review.

Dodgy single and then a wicket. Two wickets make it an ok session for India. Cricinfo commentary says there's help for the spinners.

Bangladesh have played really well in this Test, if they'd not made such a mess of their fielding they could have been in some strong positions.

It's been good to see them get a chance to show their skills in what could be said to be a fair test, it would be interesting to see them play Sri Lanka at home.

Got to think that India will tidy this up at some point in the afternoon session.

Looks like 365 will be right. Decent from BD though.

BD have some ODIs in Ireland in May, and a tour of SA in October with two Tests. Both of these are probably going to be vulnerable to the weather. In between, the Champions Trophy.

Just about over now.

Can't see any stubborn resistance from the tail.

Jadeja mopping up. Extra 30m probably robs BD of taking it into the last session.

Very good performance by Bangladesh. I'd say the current Indian side is all but unbeatable at home. While the scoreline may not be flattering, Bangladesh put in a good shift and can hold their heads high. With a bit of improved fielding at key points they could have had India under pressure.
