England win the toss and bowl. Job done :rasta

Ball in for Rashid - interesting decision. England are obviously expecting something from the pitch. Bangladesh would have bowled first too, and go in with three seamers, Rubel Hossain in for Mehedi Hassan.

So many Bangladesh fans here. I'm outnumbered in this stand.

Woakes off the field already - not looking good :?

Slow start from Bangladesh, but the ball doesn't seem to be doing much. Nerves? Being cautious after the collapse?

Every time the ball goes for any runs whatsoever, a great football roar goes up.

Would do my head in!

A bit concerning that Woakes and Plunkett have been off the field, especially with Stokes' niggle. And Ball hasn't been particularly on the money so far.

Slow rate from Bangladesh, but plenty of wickets in hand mean that it doesn't have to be a problem. Plenty of time to accelerate.

This looks a 350+ wicket.

Top catch by Wood.

Moeen is keeping the runs down so that might be a problem for England when they bat.

Not exactly the first twenty overs England would have been looking for...

Questionable team selection reducing variety - OK they're covering for injury fears , but...
Injury - potentially serious - to a leading bowler - and not the one they expected
Easy catch dropped
Strange failure to employ a slip to new batsman costing a certain wicket.
.
Fortunately Bangladesh started slow , lost one to Stokes and his Golden Arm ; and some catching brilliance from Wood so it hasn't all been one way.

Even so Bangladesh have a nice platform and might motor later on.

Think Root might need to do his turn with the ball today.

Perhaps "concerned" would be more accurate...

Bangladesh are on course for about 320-330 at the moment. Which would be challenging ; but not unassailable.

Think we are already seeing confirmation of what we expected : England will be counting on their powerful batting to live up to its reputation if they are to have any chance in this tournament.

It will , however , be a major disappointment if it doesn't do so. This match looks like providing an early test of that reputed strength.
