For all BDs improvements, not many had them into the semis (although weather aided). With one of Pakistan and SL and probably India, the Asian teams are doing unexpectedly well.

India vs bangladesh
And Pakistan/Sri Lanka vs england.

Hopefully the semis are close and the final is a good game.

why is it certain that India will finish top of group B?

NRR
india +1.370
Sri lanka -0.8
and pakistan -1.5
pakistan can't definitely catch india NRR
Sri lanka got a very difficult task, they basically need to score 350 and then dismiss pakistan very cheaply.
or chase pakistan total with at least 20-30 overs to spare.

I be very surprised to see pakistan or Sri lanka thrashing each other by that much of a huge margin.
india 99.9% top.

Saying that I have no idea how NRR works.
not sure how india thrashing SA today didn't really increase NRR yet them losing a close or nearly close game to sri lanka they lost nearly 2 pts in NRR.
Suspect some mathematician will give the scenario tomorrow of what Sri lanka or pak will have to achieve in finishing top.

Sri Lanka would need to win by 250 runs (or chase with 240 balls to spare) according to the commentators.

I confess that Pakistan worries me a bit. Depending on which Pakistan turn up they are sort of team that will either be comfortably beaten by England or simply blow England out of the water.

England must be overwhelming favourites for this. They just have to decide if Bairstow comes in for Roy.

Maybe rest one of the bowlers for the final and bring in Willey.

Maybe also rest Stokes and give Billings a game.

You can't rest a bowler in a semi final game, thats madness! It's knockout cricket anything can happen...you pick your strongest side and win the game.

It's a practice game. Just use it to rest key players. England are already in the final.

That Pakistan side retired years ago. The same Pakistan side always turns up these days.
