I left after Kohli...could see the writing on the wall.

Didn't think it would be quite so emphatic but I guess these things do run away quickly...congrats to Pakistan :clap

Perhaps we shouldn't be surprised any more. Pakistan beat South Africa and England on the way to the final, and everyone was still writing them off. Puts England's defeat into context, and it just goes to show that in this tournament, anyone can win if they make the knockouts and play well. Hats off to Zaman and H Ali in particular - we should be seeing a lot more of them.

I'm not too down on England - compared to how we were two years ago, we made the knockouts, and beat Australia, then had an off day against a team who have been playing out of their skins. We're only disappointed because expectations were unrealistically high beforehand thanks to the good old English press getting too worked up (as many of us rightly pointed out).

biggest difference for me between England 2015 and England 2017 is on our day now we will beat anyone whereas in 2015 even on our day we could still lose

Woakes was a loss. The failure of the lower order v Pakistan was just the situation where he can turn an innings around. Plus, it's not certain how fit Stokes was.

Negatives- the batting of Roy after such a good 2016. Inability of Root to be more than just England's best top order ODI batter ever (arguably) and be the reliably run monster they need. Willey in limbo. Not getting game turning rewards from Buttler's exceptional ability.

Positives- most of the batting held up and Wood and Plunkett were very effective.

Icredible result for Pakistan and not one many would have predicted before the tournement. Just the shot in the arm Pakistan cricket needs.

So where is this photo of the CMS crew?

Exactly why I was pleased to see a Pakistan win when I got up this morning. Even moreso by the emphatic nature of the victory.
