Agreed and Indians play predominately white ball cricket. Bayliss is lambasting his players in the press this morning yet he's the one who enforced the mantra of forceful attacking cricket even amongst the openers. Fortunately Cook continues to do his own thing. Positions 2 and3 remain the problem but I really think we ought to persist with Jennings and hope Hameed regains form. A weakened W.Indies will provide him with a gentle as possible reintroduction to test cricket.

Since England's preparation this summer has been Champions Trophy, the multi-format players are always going to end up transitioning from one format to the other with very little preparation. South Africa have enjoyed a couple of warm up matches, England's players had a washed out round of County Championship pink ball cricket.

Except Cook, Ballance and Jennings who have played a full series of CC games, and the former two have been making runs for fun. No excuse there.
