Pujara gets his century!

399/3 on the opening day is a great start, and nothing from Kohli in that!

Need to keep it going tomorrow and bat deep into the evening session - still Pandya, Saha, Ashwin and jadeja to come after this pair - and hopefully this pair will carry on from where they left off

yeah good day for india, means sri lanka can't really win the game anymore.
now it is a race against time for india if they get enough time to win the game.
think rains is expected every day of the test.

104/4 in the opening session of the day - good fightback by SL. India will be disappointed with that and need a good partnership from Pandya and Jadeja now to lift the score past 600

Mukund out for 81 as India reach 189-3 at stumps. The lead is now 498 with kohli on 76. Let the captain get his century or declare overnight?
:)

Plenty of time left if SL can bat and bat

94/2 is a good start for SL, and a healthy run rate of 3.6 as well. Nothing for Ash and Jadeja yet

At the moment not sure any of the spinners are close to jadeja or Ashwin.
Hearth in his peak yes but not at the moment.
Both spinners are quite threatening and accurate consistently on good batting decks although it is quite baffling why they can't do it overseas when lessers spinners like Ali and maharaj can.

Maybe Ashwin and co will be more successful now with India having a decent pace attack and they wouldn't be pressure to win games overseas.

Test best score for Abhinav Mukund. Feels like he's played a few Tests, but this is only his seventh. His second fifty.

Matthews out for two. That's a big wicket.

Dickwella out for 67. Five down.

Karu out three short of a century.
