I always feel that Broad is a little under rated, 380+ wickets at 28 is a very good record.

I agree

yes he bowls short a lot.... that 'enforcer' period did him no favours really..... yes his bowling frustrates the hell out of me at times, but whenever one bowler turns a test match completely on its head that bowler is very often Stuart Broad. When he's up, he's up, and there is often very little that any opposition can do about it

I've heard it said that Stonemercenary is very lucky to get his chance against a weak WIndies side, but at the same time they appear to be so weak that if he fails in the first innings he's very unlikely to get a second innings to try again.

I don't think you can be overly critical of the West Indies, almost all sides these days crumble into a heap when they are faced with a big total. Even England who have a vastly stronger batting line up only lasted 150 overs at Trent Bridge and South Africa were about the same in their three losses.

West Indies won a Test in UAE recently, which England have never done.

But very disappointing from them. They may get the wickets on a good day. But they won't get the runs.
I always say that everybody's right.

I don't know, even taking that into account, and noting that England have been poor a lot of late, that was another level of abject by the West Indies.

I'm not sure I've ever been less enthused about an England win. It was all so inevitable that I actually found it mildly depressing. Test cricket needs a good West Indies side, and close contests, if it is going to thrive. The last 18 months or so has not exactly done the format any favours. Only a couple of the India-Australia tests have been anything like a close contest.

I see that both WI innings did not last even a 50 over match. Roston Chase batting at 5 tells about the Windies batting strength.

2 more matches like this and im not sure it will be wis for the ECB to invite the WI for test matches until their form improves at test level. I can see the WI just organising one day an t 20 tours to places like England and Australia.

Chase's record this year 427 runs at 71.16. If he and Blackwood could get some runs. England had only 3 batsman get runs, the rest 8 8 10 18 0 6.

Thank goodness it is back to the red ball. I think the Windies will be better at Headingley. Maybe a good thing for them to win the toss and bat first and have Gabriel back.

West Indies cricket has been in shambles for years but the world realises it only when they tour Australia or England. #EngvWI
pretty true tweet that just like one of the moron telegraph writers asking for 4 day test and then getting his facts wrong and basically basing all his thoughts on what happens in england.
especially when you consider 78 out of the last 125 test in asia went to the last day.
top of that adding extra 30 mins or hour to asia won't be possible due to the short days and light in asia.
pakistan could barely survive the current time, and it gets dark very quickly in india/sri lanka as well.
