Yeah had 10/1 odds on England and ban winning.
I had to snap that up this morning, looks like England letting me down though.
Australia can't be massive fav in Asia.

I think Bangladesh need to oust Smith to feel confident. And Renshaw and Handscomb are no mugs either - as Handscomb showed in Ranchi, he can bat in the subcontinent. 260 is not that high a total, considering the batting Australia have to come.

Bangladesh are in a good position, but this game isn't over by a long stretch.

looks like a tough wicket to bat on, not sure Australia got the depth of batting if smith or renshaw fail with the bat.
if it was a flatter deck, would say australia would be fav, but seeing the pitch ban are rightly fav now.

Aussies were resilient in India against a stronger team (maybe this pitch is more of a rank turner, I don't know) so I'm not guessing they will fold here facing BD's middling first innings score.

barring ranchi and maybe banglore, although that turned less and had more uneven bounce.
the other two were rather flat and decent wickets.
the bangladesh one looks like the england vs bangladesh wickets where 3-4 wickets could fall quickly and from memory 250 was about par.
the players yesterday said 250 was enough, well that was what bangladesh said and they were probably proven right with 3 quick wickets and khawaja plus warner shitting themselves.
would be pretty tough for Smith and probably renshaw to score close to 300 runs.
Australia still need to get a lead of 80 + to be in a good position.
150+ is guaranteed win.
so basically Australia need to still score 360 plus very hard to see how Smith could get most of those singlehandly.
not sure I be confident on handscob scoring runs, renshaw yes.
Maxwell and wade are question marks and the bowlers not getting much here on this deck.
it will have to be seen if Smith could handle the pressure of scoring most of the runs on this tour.
probably more tougher task than the india series when half the game were on survivable pitches, here they most likely playing on decks where bangladesh can bowl spin all day and threaten the batsman wicket every few balls.
bangladesh would probably create 10-20 wicket taking chances a session, so in my eyes batting would be very difficult.

I saw Aus has lost another couple of wickets this morning, and I was worried.

It is all ok though - Maxwell has just come out to bat.

Slapsy's 104 at the JSCA International Stadium Complex, Ranchi offers hope, surely?

Why are modern ground names so corporate sounding? They carry no romantic, faraway resonance compared with the old grounds, like Lord's and Eden Gardens and The Wanderers. Shame.

Australia in the mire. You might wait a long time for Wade to rescue the team in a Test match.

Sounds like a nightmare to bat on, having had a scan through cricinfo commentary. Still, a couple of all rounders to come, though The Last Mitch's batting will be a miss. He seems to get a few in tricky circumstances.

Maxwell is not going to hang around wondering here. There is a lot of turn. And the Australian bats are still none the wiser after 3 tours to the sub continent in the last year.

Agar has been picked to help cover Mitch not playing and is expected to get some lower order runs. But thats alot to be expected if the top order are not getting any runs.

The difference so far is the Iqbal and hasan partnership yesterday. This test will probably not make the end of day 3 at this rate.

Nothing more than a speed hump for BD. More annoying for the Aus supporters.

Longest partnership for the Australians and the second biggest. Very furstrating when the number 9 and 10 are doing a better job then those above them.

From Cricinfo "Cummins has now faced as many balls as Warner, Smith, Khawaja, Maxwell, Wade and Lyon combined." :laugh

Ill let Smith off as he is usually the one that saves Australia most of the time.
