And why should the west indies change a losing team? Fiddle while Rome burns is the wicb motto.

Surely Gabriel comes in? and/or Bishoo?

I suppose from an England point of view, do they play Woakes in place of TRJ is the only question. They can't really drop either Malan or Westley as there are questions that need answers about both, so the option of dropping a batsman and playing Woakes and Crane seems out of the question.

For the WIndies they need to change up their bowling attack.

I would hope so but I am not holding my breath. This would be my team. ....

Kraigg Braithwaite
Kyle hope
Shimron Hetmyer
Roston chase
Jermaine Blackwood
Raymon Reifer
Shane dowrich
Jason holder
Kemar roach
Dev bishoo
Shannon Gabriel

Will this team make a difference? We will see. ....

if BCCI were thinking this, everyone would be criticising them, then again only BCCI has to care for cricket and no one else has to.

IMO would leave out Malan for this test, push everyone up a place, so Mo is at 7, with Crane in the side too...and woakes for TRJ

Remember the old days when England would elect four specialist Headingley seamers? Like Watkin, Mallender, Pringle. With some success.

A problem for West Indies is the captain. Bit like Sammy before him : has some admirable qualities but he isn't really good enough to bat top six or be part of a four man bowling attack.
Obviously with the limited resources they have he is still well worth his place ; but as he is more fourth seamer than third they almost need to pick three other pace men...and surely need Bishoo as well. So the batting - already thin - is also shorter than they'd like. Would help if the keeper was really a top class bat but on the evidence of Edgbaston he is certainly no better than Ramdin - perhaps not as good.

They have no hope unless they can bowl England out so guess they need to bring in Gabriel and Bishoo and toss one of the batsmen. (Unless you are happy to have Chase bowl a lot of overs : I'm sure the England bats wouldn't mind much . Sure , he eventually took wickets last time ; but it was more because they no longer mattered and were going to get out to someone)

Not holding my breath for a huge improvement at Headingley ; but if the weather is a bit kinder they might be able to put up a rather more respectable performance this time round. Suspect the coach will at least be demanding a better effort in the field.

Can't see any changes for England unless any of the bowlers develop minor niggles and need a rest.

Holder is probably one of their best six bats in my opinion. Not that this makes him Test class, and arguably WI should still be giving opportunities for potentially better options, but he digs in and gets runs far more often than the top order.

WI batting since Jan 2016. Holder's average is as good as Bravo's, and much better than Marlon Samuels, who some are saying is being missed by WI.
