The next generation of SA batsmen are not exactly putting their foot forward, now that Duminy's retired from Test cricket....

Of the top order, only Zubayr Hamza, with 60, made any significant runs.

Christensen made 53, but his FC average is appalling!

Shaun van Berg made 62 not out, but at 31 he can't be a prospect for the future.

31 is hardly old. Has at least 5 years left.

31 is no age...look at likes of Mike Hussey etc, age wasn't a factor, plenty of time to be a pivotal part of the side

Handy start for Markram on his debut. A different circumstance from opening in England, so timing is everything.

This seems a perfect match for the top order to improve their averages.

Pootchefstroom seems to be the perfect batting strip...it's started to keep low now, though.

Finally, a bowler gets a wicket!

No watching the game, but it seems pretty easy batting for SA. Elgar moving towards his 200. It seems BD bowlers are not so potent away from home.

Rabada gets rid of Kayes for seven...one down.

Morkel removes Das for 25...two down.

Elgar drops Rahim twice off Maharaj, before the spinner finally gets him for 44 the third time around...three down.
