Also a nice surprise to hear it broadcast on the ABC radio - not their digital service. A great announcement that summer was here - me working in the garden all day, with the cricket entertaining (I assume) the neighbourhood.

Yep, fully agree as well. Great to have it here in the calendar where it's generating some interest. The Aussie media has embraced the series in a way I haven't seen for women's cricket before. There is even a #beatEngland trending.

Ok, it's not fully mainstream, but it's on radio, FTA TV and the match reports are on the news website front pages (or newspaper back pages). Interest is growing.

Aus go 2-0 up (or 4-0, if we are looking at the points).

Fairly comprehensive win today. 296 runs, and then bowled England out for about 210 - even only having Elysse Perry for 3-4 overs. 2 waist high deliveries in a row - one far over waist high, and the next high, but wide. She was unlucky in that it was just after a rain delay, and the wet ball couldn't be controlled.
Maybe

back in the game, but losing 2 of the 3 ODI's means they absolutely have to win the test match just to stay in the game, which will be very difficult, I think

Beeb talking up the start by England, 148-3 atm, but they clearly haven't considered that it is still light. Floodies are now on in preparation for the sun going down, and once that happens wickets will tumble, and tumble and maybe even tumble some more. I think Aus will be batting first thing tomorrow morning and feeling that they are in the driving seat.

Hope I'm wrong

England seem to be the better side for the traditional format.

Good timing: I turn on the match, and first ball Elyse Perry takes a freaky caught and bowled to get rid of Taylor.

235-7. I knew the wickets would drop. once it got darker. England will do very well to get 280. Might have to be a bit of a late order thrash in the morning
