Only 30 overs bowled in 2 days. Not a great start for India, but think win will be tough to get here for either team, unless there is 3 days of great weather coming.

SL 101/2 chasing approx 170 so they are well on course to win this at the moment. Ind desperately need wickets

Real shame that Hardik Pandya requested to be rested for the first two tests...because he would have been a handful on this wicket...

SL are in a superb position, however just two days remain in this test match. Might not be enough to force a win.

SL only side favorites to won if there is a result in this match. India have started well in second innings though - batting under better conditions this time.

India almost on partiy with 10 wicket left. A draw seems the likely outcome now. Pitch much easier to handle now it seems.

Yes, trailing by just 23 runs. This is now heading towards a draw. Both teams do not have enough time to force a win although this is an even situation now.

this probably a good reason of why you can't have 4 day test in Bangladesh, pakistan and in some parts of india, mostly east india/north india.
the fact the sun comes down at 4.30 in kolkata means bad light very quickly.
not sure how they can get 100 overs or more in these places.
plus generally if the game last 5 days in asia the last days is the most interesting with the turn and bounce.

once upon a time, before the troubles, I used to try and argue for 6 day tests in Pakistan, just so they could fit in the same number of overs expected from a 5 day test
