242 runs lead now. Still enough batting to follow to put such a score that we will not need to bat in second innings.

150 for Cheeku. Can he convert this to a double.

His 17th 150+ knock in tests.

Ouch. Tough for Rahane, out for 2 after all those tons.

Correction - This was his 8th 150+ score.

His highest scores being: 235, 211, 204, 200,169, 167,159.

Talent nearing 50 as well.

50 for Talent :clap

Leading by 302 at tea time. Should bat the entire third session as well.

Probably worth declaring and having a bowl at some tired batters rather than letting them get a good nights rest before they bat.

I'd bat for 10 to 12 overs and get the lead up close to 400 and then leave approx 20 overs bowling

At 211/1 now. This could be the innings where our opponents may yet again have to bowl 150 to 180 overs.

160 overs already bowled. 180 overs looks almost certain.

I'd declare once Rohit gets to 100 and Kohli gets 200 and that shouldn't take that long

We are going to win this anyway, Red. Don't think SL will get a sound sleep, they are likely to get a dream that they are still fielding , such long has been their stay on field. So a good sleep for them is ruled out :laugh

Jokes apart, Rohit is back from injury and needs time in the middle. If Rohit nears a ton we will keep batting. Time in middle will help him for this series as well as some kind of preparation for series in SA. Even if he gets out we have Saha, Ash and Jaddu who can bat. We must look to win this by an innings and lot of runs and get a tremendous psychological edge over Lankans, which will be useful for remaining tests.

Would rather like our bowlers to rest today as well and come fresh tomorrow morning. I know we will miss the opportunity to bowl 10 odd overs and get a wicket or two , but it's not going to make much difference as we can take those two wickets tomorrow or day after as well. Win with a mammoth innings margin and force them to change their bowling attack and play bench bowlers in next test. Make them pull players out of their first choice 11.

200 * from 259. What a treat it was to watch this wonderful innings.

213 (267). I think that was a chance-less knock until the ball he was dismissed off.

He got 2 ducks in 4 Ranji innings playing for Mumbai leading to this test series. Remaining 2 were 45 and 49. So he was having a bad time. Scored 4 and 0 in Kolkata. This knock (2 runs) continues his tough time.

He'll be fine once we are playing outside India!
