WI openers out and pressure on the middle order. This looks like a lot of WI scorecards (so far). Double figure starts that get cut off just as they should be settled at the crease.

Now Hetmyer goes, a pair of quick wickets.

Great day for Waggy who is one of Test's in form bowlers and hardly gets any acclaim. And had a hell of a job claiming a place in the NZ side, even though meriting one.

Neil Wagner ran through the West Indies line up on the opening day of the first Test at Wellington, taking 7-39 to skittle the tourists out for a disappointing 134 all out. Trent Boult provided support with 2-36, while Kieran Powell topscored with 42. At stumps, New Zealand were strongly placed on 85-2.

When do the Windies next play australia? Because the way Wagner bounced out the windies, on that track, would suggest that the aussie bowlers may well kill the west indies batsman when they play!!

Hundred for CDG. Four man pace attack not working for WI. This could hardly be going worse.

Exactly.

This is why I was disappointed that Bishoo was not selected. Chase has ended up bowling more overs than Roach.

Ross Taylor hit 93, Nicholls 67, Colin de Grandhomme 105, and Tom Blundell 57 not out, as the Kiwi batsmen ran riot with the West Indies attack, piling up 447-9 against an impotent pace attack. Roach was the best of a bad bunch, taking 3-73 so far.

WI bowling has been poor. Not much threat by the pace attack. Kiwi batters have batted well, especially Colin who tonked the bowlers (SR 141 over 105 runs in test !! ) as if this was a T20. Nice debut 50 for Tom Blundell as well.

Ross Taylor was good on the off side. He lacked control though on short pitched stuff directed into his body. But a good innings overall helping kiwis increase the lead. Holder, Roach and Brathwaite bowled some very ordinary stuff. Other bowlers too were not good. Colin feasted on innocuous bowling. Tom Blundell deserved the 50 on his home ground. Nichols made a 50 as well.

With the lead of 313 and 3 days of cricket left, Kiwis are massive favorites to win this.

Ton for Blundell, presumably on debut.

Good to see Ross Taylor back in slips. After his eye operation he had lost that fielding position and was fielding at covers.

Well deserved unbeaten debut ton for Tom. Best debut by Kiwi keeper till date.

Brathwaite in the key. He can bat one day and an half. I think he did that versus Pak in UAE. Kiwis in winning position though.

Shimron offers simplest of catch to Meet. Even Kamran Akmal will catch it 80 out of 100 times.
2 wickets for Matt.Shai walks in.

The four prong pace attack showed how inept they are by failing to bowl out new Zealand. Tom blundell hit 107 not out as they declared on 520-9.

Roach 3-85
Gabriel 1-90
Cummins 2-92
Holder 1-102
Chase 2-95

Really poor.

They batted better the second time around closing at 212-2. Powell was out for 40 and Hetmyer for 66. Kraigg is 79 not out and shai Hope is with him on 21.

Shame Kraiggg has gone just short of his ton. WI will do well to take this into the last day.
