Slow going. Unexpected swing to SA.

Maybe a collapse could still be on its way, but batting has got more feasible with the older ball in this game.

Must be a little anxiety settling on the shoulders of the India supporters. But plenty of time left for India to bust open the top order.

Again can someone explain why India chose to drop Ashwin?

If SA somehow win this test then that decision will come back to bite India.

Probably could do with Ashwin right now.

Good effort after the blow on the head and in the conditions. Well done to him.

Highest run scorer in the series is Kohli, but the next five are the SA top five.

Half way there, 9 wickets left.

Wondering if Indian players are starting to hope that the game gets called of due to a dangerous pitch.

At present this is great test cricket.

That might well be the wicket that starts the collapse.

2 balls in this over have looked unplayeable.

Is that the crack in the dam? Interesting period of play as the scoring should pick up a bit if the wickets don't fall.

Amla out for a well played 52. Ishant with the wicket.

Ishant with that breakthrough has revived Indian spirits ...was starting to look as if the balance had shifted firmly to SA.

Heck of an innings from Amla. :clap But they still need over 100 and it ain't easy for a new batsman : wouldn't India love a couple more before tea!

SA will be praying ABDV can get going now. He could reduce the target quickly if anyone can...

Bumrah gets de Villiers for six...three down.

South Africa 136-3 at tea.

Elgar 61*

I didn't know a substitute fielder could be wicketkeeper....
:hmmm
Here's the reply to my confusion:

Bam: "Im not sure if I read that wrong, but is Dinesh Karthik wicketkeeping? thought substitutes cant keep unless the rule has changed very recently?" --- It has. The ICC has approved the move

Ishant again...du Plessis out for just two.

Bumrah gets de Kock for a duck!
