Still not convinced they won't lose this game though. Australia get a lead and then England fold second time around.

A draw is acceptable. A win is good.

I think they have a better record in Sydney than Melbourne - or even anywhere - don't they?
Maybe

England have won five at Melbourne and six at Sydney since 1970.

Would have added 80 runs to England's total to feel a little more confident.

TBH the thread will be so much lively, if I wasn't so busy at work, recovering from a hangover.
Also the cricket not been that great, looks likely to be another poor Ashes series.
quite sad that expected a good close series and with the new guys scoring runs I would have thought england will be doing so much better here, but Cook, Root, Broad and Anderson haven't really shown up and took the game to Australia.

Bairstow moving up the order has certainly worked for England.

And for him, he's had a bit of a slump. Just at the right time, with suggestions he's been involved in off field shenanigans.

After a huge cross continental drive and no sleep in 38 hours, I am still questioning whether or not 2 batsman from England scored centuries, or am I dreaming it?

Got a test match here by the sounds.

If England are capable of scoring 400 at Perth, something strange is afoot. Expect a downpour of frogs.

The forecast is for showers, so the Aussies will want to get on with it here, which they're doing. Get a lead of 150, then declare, having a few overs before stumps.

This is the best batting I've seen from Mitch3.
