Trevor Bayliss is a good coach. Many a teams which he has coached has won tournaments in T20 format. Also he is a certified coach. His concerns are to be looked after by Strauss and management. If he decides to quit or not renew the contract, then it will be a loss for Team England imo.

An apology and a warning and a handshake should do there.

Maybe they thought Anderson deserved more, and thus have punished Ducket for being to lenient?

Not sure it is being anti England to actually say they won 4 test in 20 away test in 4 years.
This is nothing to do with India away record either.
Yes England had tough away tours in recent times but surely like adi said yesterday England and India should be expected to win every games.
4 wins out of 20 is very poor for England.
No one could spin that.

I was going to comment on the appropriateness of the who the victim was.

Strong action, wasting a drink on somebody. Wonder what Anderson did to warrant ti.
Maybe

I hope it was Fosters, rather than something worth drinking. If it was a Little Creatures he should be banned for a couple of months.

TBH there not really much positive stuff to say on england is it considering they results haven't been great for a while in Test and I do tend to say nice things about them on the ODI set up.
can't really expect me to say positive stuff about the test team when they are struggling in the last 4 years, barring the SA home and away and possibly the home ashes series they hasn't been much to shout about from the test results.

plus in reality they not much good things at the moment in the test team, batting is shambles, cooks looks in major decline, Root is probably facing a tough time at the moment got a slight technical fault creeping in plus mental issues of converting 50s which is getting to him, in the bowling Anderson is close to retirement and England look like they will struggle without him and broad and no spinner.
Really in the last couple of months they literally nothing positive to say about england.

Cook averages 15 in his last 8 innings.
Also only one century in his last 25 innings.

That result in SA is starting to stand out as an outlier. At the time it felt that England had turned a corner with the Ashes win as well in a very tough year. They only lost in UAE for a long period (even that defeat included an unlikely near win), but of course there were some disappointing draws in there- WI, BD, Pakistan, SL. But they crashed badly in India, hardly competing.

I think it's fair to comment that the post Ashes Mitchwash trough didn't plunge quite as deeply as many of us thought it would. But some things seem wrong to me. Cook stayed on too long as captain. Flower's value seems uncertain. Why was there a rotating door in the openers spot and yet so little was done to replace Swann and Monty? Selection for India and now this series has been badly flawed, even weird.

Experience suggests England will lose in Perth and the Ashes will be gone in three Tests, yet again. There are no positives to take from the defeats either. Non of the three new batters have done well. Mo's bowling is looking a weak link again. Cook's decline continues (somehow it has defied statistical proof but it seemed in process). Possibly Anderson doing better than expected is a positive.

Is Anderson doing better than expected? He has 8 wickets in 4 innings, and 5 of those wickets came in 1 innings where the new ball and conditions suited him. 3 wickets in the other 3 innings shows the real problems England have. If Anderson is going to be Englands main bowler in this series then they can never win due to the conditions that they still have to face.

England talk of Anderson, Root and Cook being their big guns, but we must ask why. Anderson is a bowler for conditions. He is not going to win England a match when conditions are tough for him to bowl in. Cooks problems are well noted, and indeed it looks like this could be his last series. And Root who looks the best batsman now has the problem to captain this team on top of wondering why he can not convert his starts into big scores. All the side crap going on about player behavior and the invisible Mr Strauss can not be helping his position.

Broad seems to be getting a free pass at present. In these conditions it should be him leading this attack and not Anderson. He has bowled well in spurts, but if England want to be competitive in the ashes, then Broad needs to be taking wickets regularly. And there can be no excuse for how his batting has slipped away. How can a man who has a test match hundred look like such a bunny with the bat? That is a huge failing of the ECB.

And whats the point of Ali being in the team if he is not going to be an adequate spinner? Batting at 6 and bowling pies is pointless. The bits i have seen i would suggest he is the second best spinner in this team at present. Root looked better when he bowled. England have got away with selecting Ali as a spinner in the past, but this selection can not work in Australia. The talk of English commentators before this series of Ali being better than Lyon has to be one of the funniest things ever talked about in cricket.

England need their second string to step up. Bairstow needs to make runs, and should go up the order. Presently he has the same average as Paine. Woakes needs to bowl better and contribute more. He is a senior member. And Ali if continuing to bat at 6, needs to make a lot more runs. England need to consign his bowling to part timer in Australia now. Englands selections look baffling at present. Perhaps Mr Strauss can come forward to explain things?
