Wood has done ok in limited overs for England, but has a reputation for losing pace at each spell, so in Tests that's a liability, and his fc record isn't auspicious (particularly recently). Maybe with four pacers that can be managed. I suspect his future is in white ball... but then he is in the Lions squad shadowing the Ashes. There's a certain amount of hype that comes with Wood at international level that might be justified, but its hard to say is definitely appropriate. And maybe he'd have been better in Perth. But... he's the obvious pick out the Lions and I don't think England will be boosted by recalling Ball.
