78-4 now (from 56-0) though the scoreboard has been a bit freaky.

Livingstone and Gubbins scoring zeroes.

Lions batsmen having trouble coping with Caribbean pitches and Caribbean spinners .

In Antigua two young Kent batsmen are coping very well with Caribbean pitches and spinners. Maybe the Lions should draft in Zak crawley and Daniel bell Drummond for the final Test.

How on earth is Warrican picking up so many wickets?! Simple left arm spinner, no mystery, isn't generally a big turner of the ball, and yet he is running through our line up..awful signs for the future for these young batsmen

WI 422 all out. Lions taking a beating here. 100 for Hamilton. Leach took six wickets but at a much greater cost than the WI spinners. 41 overs for him and 14 for Crane (and no wickets). But Crane is in the Test squad in NZ. If he's been exposed to a higher level too soon, it doesn't do him any favours.

Livingstone is also in the squad for NZ. He's just put himself above Crane as 2nd spinner.

Having a bat now. England's top order blown away cheaply in the first session. 101-4.

Said it at the time, he should never have been picked after just a single decent season so early in his career. There are plenty of players who have had a good season only to fade away a year later, I remember Steve Moore being talked up as an England player, I think he even made the Lions at one point. Then he took a serious nose dive and couldn't get in our squad. Luis Reece is another, and that's just Lancashire openers this decade.

Stats so far..

http://stats.espncricinfo.com/ci/engine ... ype=series

Just can't understand why Crane is off to New Zealand
Leach 88.4 overs 17.71
Livingstone 49 overs 28.00
Crane 26.4 overs 115.00

WHY????

On the third day of the second "Test" at Sabina Park, the West Indies 'a' team crushed the England Lions by more than an innings to take an unassailable 2-0 lead in the series. Trailing by 277 runs on first innings, the Lions could only manage 260 all out in the second. Liam Livingstone hit 48 and Paul Coughlin 47, but they were once again no match for spinners Rahkeem Cornwall (4-88) and Jomel Warrican (4-69).

shambles, absolute shambles, neither spinner a world beater yet ripping through our line ups, and what is the point of Crane being there? Captain clearly has no faith in him so why bother having him on the park..

Maybe they think of the leggie being more of a second innings bowler? Bit of a luxury if so, though one England can accommodate with so many all rounders. But Crane didn't bowl a lot in the second innings of the first game which was ultimately quite tight and where he might have been expected to win the match.
