I don’t think them all being right handed us a huge issue, more that they all just are very similar in conditions that don’t seam or swing. They’re all quickish with out being out and out quick, they all have similar lines and lengths, none of them bowl a heavy ball, it’s just 4 by and large identical bowlers in these conditions just varying on consistency. All of course exacerbated by Ali being basically a non entity with the ball because the quicks aren’t threatening to take wickets for him to feed off.

What i was suggesting with the all right hand bowler is the sameness of this English attack. There is nothing wrong with having an attack all bowling with the same hand, as long as their is variety. But this England attack is just so similar. England seem not cable of producing quality spinners and fast left arm bowlers. Australia on the other hand seem capable of evening producing quick left arm bowlers with the same first name:).

Great morning for England. Curran got his first Test wicket and it was The Steve and only for 61. Broad is back. And all the seamers got a wicket. Game on.

So only McGrath has more wickets than Jimmy the Saint among pace bowlers as he goes past Sir Courtney.

4-fer for Broad. Three more for 400 wickets for the tall medium pacer.

Anderson now has 15 wickets at below 25 in the series. His overall away average has dropped from as high as 49-50 to 32 now. His overall average - 39 to 27. Keep criticising and he continues to improve.

Anderson has lost 3-4mph but his control this year has been amazing. I hardly remember short and wide or down the leg-side deliveries this year. Just a couple of criticisms... on Day 3 at the WACA he could have attacked the stumps more instead of looking for edges. The one spell he did, he almost dismissed Smith. He attacked the stumps on Day 4 but was way too late. And the lack of intensity on Day 1 in Adelaide.

Runs for Cook, wickets for Broad, but I presume they'll view them in them as being a month too late. Still, they keep England buoyant in the game.

Seniors Jimmy, Broad, Cook and Joe have started to contribute but as mentioned the series is already lost. And there are not outstanding bowling spells or big double hundreds. So these remaining two tests could also be lost. But still well done.

Great day for England. The senior pros will keep should keep their jobs now and this is a great chance for them to end the 8 game loosing streak in Aus. Still a bit of work to do as batting last might be difficult.
