An interesting little titbit - if four day tests were to come in, the result would have been 2-0 Australia, with draws in Brisbane, Perth, Melbourne and Sydney.

I wonder when the last time an Ashes series actually featured 25 days of cricket?

Maybe when there were 6 tests!!!

I do wonder how much of a difference Stokes would have made, not that we should be using that as an excuse? Is he available for the NZ tour?

He's been named in the ODI squad for NZ, but that I think is more so that the ECB are seen not to prejudice the outcome of the police/CPS deliberations.

I can't imagine he'll go, unless he's cleared of all charges by the end of January.

I guess Moen will be our spinner then.

Just wondering if say, Steve Waugh, would have left retired hurt if he could still stand when he was ill? Seem to remember a story about an Aussie playing in some heatwave in India where it was some ungodly temperature, and while others were dying and unable to move, he called for two sweaters and bowled in 50 degree heat like he was going mountain climbing.

Yeah, he details it in the above article. I especially like the fact he was feeling like he was going to collapse, and Allan Border at the other end told him he'd need to send a Queenslander in to replace him, some one with a bit more grit.. he he.

Never looked forward to an ODI series so much!

Except in 2014.

And '07.

Good article about a great test that no-one in Australia knew anything about until it was over. Just like when we won the world cup in India the next year.

Imagine the trouble, from WorkSafe, Border and others would be in this day and age for lack of duty of care.

We won the ODI tri-series in '07, somehow (before being destroyed by Australia and all comers in the '07 WC).

Still can't believe we won that. Then Freddie went for a trip in the pedalo.
