Not really good enough in test cricket, and one that the selectors should answer to, imo.

it is but in the selectors defence, not often i say that, our 7/8/9 had been a strength when we had everyone fit and available but with Stokes absent, Moeen horribly out of form and now Woakes injured we dont really have many more all-round options that can contribute in those positions, so its kinda been forced on us

on paper before the series started, even without Stokes, i thought our batting depth might be the one area we were better than you guys. Paine at #7 looked a bit dodgy but hes done well, and Cummins has looked handy as well

Alison Mitchell made a really good point on commentary after the Cook decision was overturned on review

now that teams dont lose a review if the decision is upheld but its umpire's call. whether captains might be more likely to review tight calls knowing they wont lose a review where before they might be a bit more cautious

Odd situation. Woke up and tried to check the score, and CMS is the only link out of all my bookmarks that works.

I gather the Aussies are on top.

England have fought back a bit with Root and Malan, but you'd rather be Australia, especially when England's tail effectively starts at 7 with Moeen in such horrible form. 193-3 is ok on paper, but if Australia breaks this partnership soon, England will almost certainly crumble to a sub par score.

pretty even atm

194-3, gonna lose about 7 overs because of the delayed start, still around 14 overs left today

100 partnership between root and malan atm

Stoneman got a good delivery, Vince played a typical Vince shot to get out, Cook out after a review by the aussies on a very marginal LBW

looked a good wicket, bit of pace and bounce, turned a bit for Lyon too but no real demons

Scoring has virtually stopped, looks like England playing for stumps and Aussies for the new ball.

35 minutes left if the light holds out so not sure playing for stumps is a good tactic

Another 50 for Malan. Definitely England's find of the series, he will have secured for himself a good long run in the side.

Well played.

Thanks.

Got the score off teletext, like I'm at a UK B&B.

Well done to Malan. Root in the danger zone.

Oh Joe. Good catch, but yet again he falls short of three figures.

With a new ball tomorrow morning, Australia are going to run through England.

Smith has made some appalling reviews this series. Wilson got it right. Not out.
