true

if it doesn't spin then alot of pressure on Broad and Anderson with just Curran backing them up with seam

even the two part-timers in Root and Malan are spinners

Root wins the toss and bats

could be a good day to bat as there will be two long sessions after lunch being taken early

Maybe not if the ball swings like it did in that first over

Jimmy would have like to be bowling right now I'd think, but picking two spinners we forced our selves to bat

Another start not converted by stoneman

He's shown enough to stay in the side but he will want to get a big score under his belt as soon as possible

Was a pretty good ball to get him out

he confuses me a little

he has had a couple of innings that he really looks to grind it out, but then today he looked like he was trying to play a run a ball

dont know if i'm just grasping at straws here but the one positive thing about this tour is having blooded a few youngsters

Curran is 22, Overton is 23 and Crane is just 20

Whether they end up being good enough to be successful at this level is another matter but it gives some hope

It certainly was. I thought it was going to be Umpire's Call, but was 1 CM the other side. Fantastic review.

A heck of a long tail England have this test. With Moeen batting like a bowler all series, a couple more wickets will see the start of it.

Not really good enough in test cricket, and one that the selectors should answer to, imo.
